The Classic is De'Longhi's entry point with a real portafilter. For the price of a better kettle you get the motions of an espresso machine: dosing, tamping and frothing, all your own work.
Expect no miracles from the pressurised baskets — they forgive a lot and therefore flatten good coffee too. As a teaching instrument it is excellent, and if it suits you you will know exactly why you are moving up to a Bambino or a Dedica.
Who for: Anyone testing whether pulling their own espresso appeals, without spending much on finding out.
